St. Petersburg Housing Authority Engages in Professional Training for Trauma-Informed Care

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL (MARCH 19, 2025) - The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is reinforcing its commitment to providing compassionate and effective services by undergoing professional training in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC).
On March 12, 2025, the entire SPHA team engaged in an insightful TIC training session led by Hope Cross from Cultivating Hope Training.
Trauma-Informed Care is an approach to healthcare, social services, and other systems that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and takes steps to prevent re-traumatization and promote healing.
SPHA is the leading affordable housing provider in the city of St. Petersburg, serving more than 4,000 low-income households. SPHA's mission is to provide safe, sanitary, accessible, decent, and affordable housing to eligible citizens of the city of St. Petersburg, while enhancing and promoting resident self-sufficiency.
