The Edward White Campus Groundbreaking Ceremony
The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) celebrated the groundbreaking of The Edward White Campus on August 27, 2024. This redevelopment project will transform the former Edward White Hospital into a multi-story affordable housing complex. The renovated six-story, 121,000-square-foot building will feature 71 apartments for low-income seniors.
Jordan Park Community Garden Work Day - August 2024
On August 8th, SPHA brought together residents of Jordan Park, youth from Job Corps, and community volunteers for a productive work day at the Jordan Park Community Garden. A highlight of the day was the unveiling of the new Community Garden sign.
SPHA Team Volunteers on Habitat for Humanity House 2024
A team from the St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) joined hands with community partner Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties on April 18, 2024, to volunteer their time and efforts on a new home for a deserving family.
Spring Family Picnic at Jordan Park 2024
The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) hosted a vibrant Spring Family Picnic event at Jordan Park on March 26th. SPHA residents of all ages participated in various activities and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Cutting Edge Landscape and Nursery provided on-site BBQ. United Way Suncoast organized delightful egg hunts for kids. DJ Dondy set the mood with joyful tunes, and his hula hoop contests were a big hit! Pathfinder Outdoor Education held an exhilarating tree climb! Young adventurers conquered new heights under the watchful eyes of skilled professionals, igniting their adventurous spirits! Tampa Bay Watch - Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center provided engaging hands-on marine life educational experiences! Domino's Pizza - Team Florida - provided delicious pizza!
Winter Wonderland 2024
The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) Asset Management Department transformed The Legacy at Jordan Park into a magical Winter Wonderland on March 14th. Residents of all ages enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Live Better Medical Group hosted a lively game of BINGO, adding an element of friendly competition and camaraderie to the occasion. DJ Dondy spun tunes that had everyone dancing. SPHA extends our thanks to the American Heart Association - Florida, Help Me Grow Pinellas, and Tampa Bay Watch - Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center for their invaluable support and participation in making the Winter Wonderland event a memorable experience for all.
SPHA Kid's Art Contest Winners - January 25, 2024
The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) in 2023 received outstanding recognition from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), following the most recent reviews of agency performance. SPHA achieved the distinction of earning the 'High Performer' designation, HUD's highest possible rating, for our two major housing programs. To celebrate this accomplishment, SPHA invited our young residents to share their creativity! SPHA held a Kid’s Art Contest with the theme of “What Home Means to Me.” A panel of SPHA team members evaluated the submitted artworks based on creativity and relevance to the theme. Twelve winners were selected, each receiving a $100 prize. The winning artworks were curated into a special calendar. The award ceremony and celebration for the young artists took place at The Legacy at Jordan Park on January 25, 2024.
Very Merry Holiday Party at Jordan Park 2023
The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) hosted our second annual Very Merry Holiday Party in Jordan Park on December 14th, 2023 and it was a huge success! Over 200 SPHA residents enjoyed holiday crafts, hot cocoa, games, popcorn, pizza, cookie decorating, and more!
Grand Opening of The Legacy at Jordan Park - October 2023
On October 27, 2023, the St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) held the grand opening of The Legacy at Jordan Park! We also celebrated the completion of the surrounding newly renovated 206 Jordan Park Family Units!

The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) held a Back to School Event in Jordan Park on August 8th, 2023. SPHA joined forces with the NFL Alumni Association to orchestrate an unforgettable evening for Jordan Park families! Alumni NFL players and cheerleaders graced the event, providing inspiration and motivation to the children in attendance.

Jordan Park Community Garden - July 2023
The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is working to restore the Jordan Park Community Garden. On Thursday, July 6th, a crew of families and community volunteers came together to help with the garden. Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center brought fun educational activities for the kids!

Jordan Park Community Garden - June 2023
On Saturday, June 10, 2023, phase 1 of the Jordan Park Community Garden restoration project was completed when residents, volunteers and SPHA staff installed the final summer plants for the garden. The plants, such as eggplant, oregano, spinach and marigolds, were donated by the Sustainable Urban Agriculture Coalition (SUAC), and were grown locally and organically at Earthsong Nursery.
Healthy Summer Celebration at Jordan Park - May 2023
On May 30th, 2023, SPHA joined together with community partners to host a community event at Jordan Park, celebrating the start of a healthy summer! This fun event featured a tree climb with Pathfinder Outdoor Education, the Tampa Bay Watch Marine Science Discovery Van, and more hands-on activities for kids! Adults appreciated legal information from Bay Area Legal Services, free disaster preparedness kits, and additional resources from community partners.
Jordan Park Easter Egg Hunt - April 2023
On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Jordan Park residents celebrated spring with an egg hunt, games, and more! The United Way Suncoast provided 1000 candy-filled eggs for the kids of Jordan Park to enjoy, as well as a Learn ‘n Play center and craft activities. Brittni Lawrence did an amazing job face painting all the children. It was an egg-cellent event, and everyone had a blast!
Very Merry Holiday Party at Jordan Park 2022
SPHA hosted a Very Merry Holiday Party at Jordan Park on December 21, 2022. The children loved playing outdoor games with Pathfinder Outdoor Education. Domino's generously donated pizza for all, and, courtesy of Aetna, children and adults were delighted with a frosty treat by Kona Ice. Chase Bank sponsored a photo booth project which was a ton of fun! United Way Suncoast had a child play area set up, too! Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department handed out stuffed animals to the kids, and families were excited to experience St. Petersburg Fire Rescue’s truck and demonstrations.

On Thursday, August 11, 2022, the St. Petersburg Housing Authority held a backpack giveaway at Gateway Place Apartments. Thank you to Deenae Dates and Terrell Dukes, who made this event possible! Officer Fuchs and Sgt. Deary joined in on back-to-school fun, along with SPHA Board Chairperson James Dates, CEO Michael Lundy, and COO Danielle Thomas.

PAL Back to School Bash 2018
On September 15, 2018, the St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) teamed up with the Police Athletic League (PAL), the Pinellas County Urban League, The Edible Peace Patch Project, WEDU PBS, and the St. Petersburg Midtown Rotary Club to throw a Back to School Bash at Jordan Park.
