ST. PETERSBURG, FL - A team from the St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) joined hands with community partner Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties on April 18, 2024, to volunteer their time and efforts on a new home for a deserving family.

The new homeowners will be the Bradley family. Amber Bradley, a mother of three children, says she puts all of her energy into her kids, wanting them to have everything the world has to offer. Amber said she has been struggling to provide them a stable place to call home. "We have experienced a few hardships over the last five years," said Amber. "But we are still very blessed." Since the pandemic, Amber said that she and her kids have had to move several times.

When Amber was accepted into the Habitat program she says she started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. "Just completely blessed and fortunate," said Amber. "This is for my children. I have been working hard to lift this burden and Habitat is helping me, which is a major sigh of relief."

Amber is excited to give her children a home that has plenty of space. She is also looking forward to a new kitchen. Most of all, Amber expressed relief that once they move in, there will no longer be a need for moving boxes. "Once we are in our home, we are done. Goodbye rent and goodbye uncertainty," said Amber.

The St. Petersburg Housing Authority is proud to have assisted with the Bradley family's forever home and is honored to have Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties as a valued community partner.
